DOHA, Qatar — The Overseas Filipino Investors and Entrepreneurs Movement (OFIE-M) highlighted the importance of financial literacy, financial planning, and long-term preparation for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) during a live guesting on Usapang Qabayan, aired on Qabayan Radio 94.3 FM.

Hosted by RJ Millie G., the program’s radio host, the one-hour live radio and Facebook broadcast featured Kristine Zapanta, OFIE-M President; Aris Jay Riparip, Vice President for Internal Affairs; Jason Quizon, Chair of the Training and Development Committee; Antoniette David, Chair of the Partnerships Committee and Lead Coordinator of the ALSE OF-LIFE Program; and Veronica Ignacio, Vice Chair of the Events and Advocacy Committee.

Centered on the theme “Emphasizing the Importance of Financial Literacy and Financial Planning Among OFWs,” the discussion encouraged Overseas Filipino Workers to look beyond earning income abroad and begin preparing for long-term financial stability, personal growth, and successful reintegration into the Philippines.

The panel emphasized that while overseas employment provides opportunities, building a secure future requires informed financial decisions, continuous learning, purposeful planning, and a strong support system.

The guests also highlighted several OFIE-M initiatives that support OFWs throughout their overseas journey, including the Home for Good Movement, which promotes early reintegration planning; ALSE OF-LIFE, a transformative program on leadership, financial literacy, and social entrepreneurship; and HabiBayan, an initiative that brings together people, skills, partnerships, and community efforts to create sustainable impact and strengthen the spirit of bayanihan.

The discussion further featured OFIE-M’s training, volunteer, and community engagement opportunities that promote servant leadership, entrepreneurship, lifelong learning, and meaningful participation among Overseas Filipinos.

As part of its continuing digital transformation, OFIE-M also shared updates on its upcoming official website and Management Information System (MIS), which will provide members with improved access to membership services, event registration, announcements, organizational updates, and learning resources. The official launch date will be announced soon.

Throughout the program, the panel reminded listeners that financial literacy is not merely about increasing income, but about making wise financial decisions, preparing for life’s transitions, protecting one’s family, and building a meaningful future.

OFIE-M also expressed its appreciation to Qabayan Radio 94.3 FM, particularly to RJ Cody, Station Manager, for assisting the team and providing a platform to discuss issues that matter to the Filipino community in Qatar.
