OFIE-M Strengthens Financial Protection Advocacy for OFWs Through Anti-Scam Webinar

DOHA, Qatar — The Overseas Filipino Investors and Entrepreneurs Movement (OFIE-M) continued its financial literacy advocacy through a free online webinar titled “OFW Money Protection Guide: Avoiding Scams, Fraud, and Fake Investments” held on July 11, 2026.

The webinar, led by resource speaker Mr. Aris Jay Riparip, aimed to help Overseas Filipino Workers become more aware of financial scams, online fraud, and fake investment schemes that often target hardworking Filipinos abroad.

The session served as a timely reminder that protecting one’s money is just as important as earning it. For many OFWs, every amount saved comes from sacrifice, hard work, and the desire to provide a better future for their families.

Participants were guided on how to identify scam red flags, avoid fraudulent offers, and think carefully before trusting investment opportunities that appear too good to be true. The discussion also encouraged OFWs to make informed decisions and verify information before committing their hard-earned money.

Through this initiative, OFIE-M reaffirmed its commitment to empowering Overseas Filipinos through financial literacy, awareness, responsible decision-making, and practical learning programs that help them manage, protect, and grow their resources.

OFIE-M extended its appreciation to Mr. Riparip for sharing his time and expertise, and to all participants who joined and supported the advocacy.

The organization continues to encourage the Filipino community to remain vigilant and financially informed with the reminder:

Pause. Verify. Protect.
