OFIE-M Webinar Promotes Reintegration Preparedness Among Overseas Filipinos

DOHA, Qatar — The Overseas Filipino Investors and Entrepreneurs Movement (OFIE-M) held an online learning session on September 18, 2026, aimed at helping Overseas Filipinos prepare for the personal, professional and financial realities of returning to the Philippines.

Titled “Bakit Ang Hirap Mong Mahalin, Pilipinas? A Real Talk on Coming Home, Starting Over, and Learning to Stay,” the webinar featured Mr. Archie A. Caringal, an Occupational Therapy Hand Specialist, social entrepreneur and former OFIE-M Board Director who returned to the Philippines after working in Qatar for nearly two decades.

Caringal shared personal experiences and practical insights from his reintegration journey, including the challenges of adjusting to life back home, rebuilding a career, managing financial transitions and rediscovering purpose and belonging.

The discussion also explored reverse culture shock, changing family and community relationships, entrepreneurship and the importance of building a sustainable life after years of working overseas.

Participants joining from Qatar, the Philippines and other parts of the world were encouraged to view reintegration as a process that requires early preparation—not only financially, but also emotionally, professionally and socially.

The session formed part of OFIE-M’s continuing advocacy to empower Overseas Filipinos through financial literacy, entrepreneurship, personal development and reintegration preparedness. Through educational and community-based programmes, the nonprofit organisation seeks to equip Filipinos abroad with practical knowledge and a clearer direction for their future.

OFIE-M also highlighted the value of sharing real reintegration experiences, allowing Overseas Filipinos to learn from both the challenges and opportunities encountered by those who have already returned home.

The webinar carried the message: “Come home prepared. Rebuild with purpose. Create a life worth staying for.”
