DOHA, Qatar – The Overseas Filipino Investors & Entrepreneurs Movement (OFIE‑M) paid a courtesy call on Philippine Ambassador Mardomel Celo D. Melicor on 29 June, reaffirming its commitment to expand programs that support Filipinos in Qatar and abroad.
President Kristine Marie Zapanta, together with OFIE‑M’s 2026 officers and board directors, introduced the organization’s new leadership and outlined its priorities for the year during the meeting at the Philippine Embassy in Doha. The delegation also discussed areas where OFIE‑M could deepen cooperation with the Embassy, particularly in community development and migrant welfare.

Among the initiatives presented were the Home for Good Movement, the Leadership, Social Entrepreneurship, and Innovation Program, the WSIF Financial Literacy Program in partnership with BMKQ and PinoyWISE, HabiBayan, sports and wellness activities, and upcoming financial literacy sessions, trainer‑development programs, and upskilling workshops. OFIE‑M also turned over its organizational profile and its 2025–2026 events and collaborations portfolio.
A portion of the meeting highlighted the volunteers and professionals behind OFIE‑M’s programs – advisers, officers, board directors, committee members, mentors, trainers, speakers, partners, and members – whose continued service reflects the Filipino tradition of bayanihan despite their own work and family responsibilities in Qatar.
Ambassador Melicor, joined by Attaché Jethro Tull Dela Cruz, welcomed the delegation and expressed appreciation for the organization’s ongoing initiatives. OFIE‑M also thanked Attaché Heidee Danisse A. Ambion‑Francisco and Cultural Officer Camille Christine Joy Manlapaz Kumar for coordinating the visit.
The discussion concluded with both sides expressing interest in further collaboration in financial literacy, entrepreneurship, servant leadership, reintegration readiness, lifelong learning, health and wellness, and broader community engagement – areas seen as vital to helping Overseas Filipinos thrive in Qatar.
